Ester Utsi invites you to a banquet. And when Ester does
this the most unexpected things can happen. Ester says herself that
Polmakmoen is the place for mystery, traditional food and Sami culture.
She's probably right, too. Polmakmoen Inn is delightfully situated
on the banks of the Tana River. The banquets are held in the star-shaped
gamme a large turf hut, which in no time can be converted
into a distinctive teaching or conference room, with up to 48 participants
sitting round a large open fireplace. In the evening the fire crackles
away merrily while Ester carries in the most delectable dishes.
These are naturally based on the rich resources Tana has to offer.
Ester has a reputation as a storyteller extraordinaire. Her love
of adventure has resulted in stories she gladly shares with her
guests. Of course, Ester also has a Creature Comfort Department.
She offers healing and aromatic massages. Or she will fire up her
Indian sweating shed, the sauna or the outdoor bathtub - where you
can sit and look up at the northern lights or stare out over the
mountains. When you are warm and satisfied and filled with new impressions
you can retire to one of the 6 turf huts. These traditional dwellings
have modern equipment, 23 beds altogether with kitchens and showers
and wood-burning stoves. There's not much more to say, you'll have
to experience the rest yourselves.
