Course and conferences combined with summer or winter menu
Jergul Asttus location makes it the perfect place to hold
courses and conferences. No simply because of Jerguls accessibility,
but just as much because the Sami activities provide a unique setting
for such meetings. Toralf arranges and tailors activities according
to his clients wishes, but lets take a look at the various courses
he has on the menu.

The winter in Jergul is very cold. However, with the right clothing
the winter is the best time of year for the kind of activities S·pmi
has to offer. Jergul Astta is on a extensive network of ski runs
covering the entire plateau. This means you use the mountain lodge
as a base for excursions on skis or by snowmobile, both of which
can be rented at Jergul.
Ice fishing safari
We would recommend that you spend some time on and ice fishing safari
up on the plateau. At many of the fishing waters you have the advantage
of having your own expert, who can take into the best places to
fish from. You could also visit the mountain lodges at Molisjok
and Ravnstua and enjoy a traditional coffee break or kafekoke-rast.
The most suitable period for these trips is from February to May.
Toralf can arrange snowmobile rental, riding gear, fishing licences,
guides and other necessary equipment.
Reindeer driving
Having got as far as Inner Finnmark, reindeer driving is a challenge
that should not remain untried. We can arrange for either a reindeer-drawn
sled, a raid, which will carry you off into the mountains
wrapped up nice and warm in a reindeer skin, organise track racing.
We can promise you that although this is not the most physically
demanding sport, you will have a great laugh. Reindeer have personality
and are competitors by instinct - they hate to be overtaken so this
activity provides both speed and excitement.
Visit Karasjok
We arrange excursions to the sights of Karasjok. These are also
accompanied by Sami guides who know the place well. Most of the
interesting institutions are certainly worth a visit. The Sami Collections,
Knivsmia, the S·pmi Adventure Centre and not least the newly-built
Sami Parliament, the new Pride of the Plateau. The extent and length
of these excursions are adapted to individual requirements.
From hut to hut on skis
One of the several thousand-year old runic inscriptions in Alta
depicts a skier. The Sami have always used skis to get around. The
plateau is perfect for it. You can use Jergul Asttu as a base for
skiing expeditions in all directions. Or you can ski across the
Plateau from Alta to Jergul, spending the night at huts along the
old migration routes. Routes that are still used.

Riverboat trips
The Iesjohka, which is part of the Tana river system, is right outside
the front door. We arrange river-boat trips of various durations.
These can be combined with salmon fishing or simply gathering round
an open fire on the way. In the Iesjohka you can also catch trout,
grayling, gwyniad or pike. We recommend that you bring your own
fishing tackle and can help you to obtain the fishing licence.
Period: 15 June -- 20 August
Canoeing
The Iesjohka is a great river to canoe on. You have a choice of
various trips over manageable distances with steady passage. We
can arrange overnight trips or shorter ones with food and coffee
on the way. We recommend that you bring your own fishing tackle
on these trips. Of course we can't guarantee anything, although
there is a pretty good chance of your getting a bite.
Period: 15 June -- 20 August
Visiting Karasjok
We arrange outings to the sights of Karasjok, accompanied by a local
Sami guide. Several interesting institutions are well worth a visit.
The Sami Collections, Knivsmia, the S·pmi Adventure Centre
and not least the newly-built Sami Parliament, the New Pride of
the Plateau. The extent and length of these excursions are adapted
to individual requirements.
