WINTER
5 days/4 nights
Season: 1 November - 15 December

PROGRAMME
DAY I

Arrival in Alta. Lunch and information at a hotel, where participants will be given the equipment for the journey. Drive to dramatic Stilla, then departure by snowmobile across the plateau. Visit to reindeer herd and the siida (village) of Mikkel Nils. Lunch with the reindeer herders in their lavvu (tent) camp. Snowmobile to Nedre Mollisjok.

Traditional Sami dinner consisting of reindeer meat, marrowbone and tongue. Accommodation at the mountain lodge.

DAY II
Breakfast. Departure by snowmobile to Iesjavri, where you can try your hand at pulling a fishing net under the ice and ice fishing with a jig rod. Return to Nedre Mollisjok, where you will be served a lunch consisting of baked fresh char and potatoes, with cloudberries for dessert. After lunch you will go ice fishing with a hand line in a lake nearby. And after a long day of fishing there is nothing better than a jacuzzi or a sauna.
Dinner and accommodation at the mountain lodge.

DAY III
Breakfast and departure for Karasjok. Tour of the Sami Parliament, the Sami Museum and *Sápmi Theme Park as you wish. We will drive along the Tana River, into Finland and east to Polmak, where we will check into Polmakmoen Inn. Here Ester can offer wonderful stories, healing/massage and the tastiest dishes. After dinner we will get into the wood-fired outdoor hot tub and wait for the Northern Lights to flare across the sky.
Dinner in the inn’s star-shaped gamme or turf hut. Cultural program. Accommodation at the inn.

DAY IV
Breakfast and departure for Sør-Varanger, where you will don a survival suit and go sea-fishing in Varanger Fjord (weather permitting). This is a bleak, windswept ocean area, but one rich in resources, and there is a good chance of catching a really large fish. And what about a swim in the Arctic Ocean?

Visit to Bugøynes – the Finnish-speaking municipality that in the 1980s advertised itself for sale. Today Bugøynes is flourishing, not least because of the "invasion" of the king crab from the east. Our host is Else Haldorsen and lunch will consist of king crab. Return to Neiden Mountain Lodge, where, in accordance with Sami tradition, the day ends with a bath in a wood-fired hot tub and a sauna.
Dinner consisting of specialities from Neiden. Accommodation at the mountain lodge.
